Hi, and welcome to my Lorcana artist submission!
As a life-long Disney fan, it would be a priviledge to contribute to the exceptionally well-crafted world of Lorcana, so when I saw Edgar Pasten’s call for artists on Linkedin, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to give it a shot.
Quick blurb about me; I’m a UK based art director and artist in the games industry, with nearly 18 years of professional creative experience spanning multiple industries, including TV animation, licensed consumer products, toys and greetings cards. If you’d like to find out more about me, please feel free to visit the about page, or have a browse of the other pages to see further examples of my work (I recommend starting at the illustration section).
Anyway, onto the fun stuff! Below is a selection of Lorcanian interpretations of some of my favourite Disney characters and properties.
To start - ahead of Pixar coming to the Lorcana next year - I had a lot of fun realising my vision for Buzz Lightyear as an intergalactic Clockwork Space Knight!

As well as the full illustration above, I couldn’t resist tackling further subjects from Disney classics, TV shows and the Pixar Universe in sketch form, taking inspiration from Azurite Seas to add a swashbuckling twist to several of them.
Please note that none of the images above are currently available to view publicly, as the link to this page has only been shared via this submission.
Also, it might be useful to know that this Lorcana tryout isn’t my first professional brush with Disney, or even Ravensburger. Please scroll down to see some example projects I’ve been involved with during my time illustrating for licensed consumer products, including homeware and jigsaw puzzles.
Creating for Disney has been an ambition of mine for as long as I can remember, and although I haven't relocated to California (yet!), in a roundabout way I've come close to achieving this goal through the work I've contributed below.
These were;
Winnie the Pooh - Original pose concepts for a new plush toy and baby range.
Alice in Wonderland - 'Off styleguide' approach to the Disney classic, for use on high end licensed gift wrap and bags. The poses are a mixture of existing, new, and a combination of the two.
Winnie the Pooh
Alice in Wonderland
The detailed world of Tatty Teddy and My Blue Nose Friends, a successful character brand in the UK and beyond, lends itself perfectly to jigsaw puzzles, which is why Ravensberger were so keen to include some Tatty Teddy products in their range.
As a result of this partnership I created multiple illustrations which you can see in their final format below.
To maintain the customers’ interest, a puzzle illustration must be packed full of details. This means that they are quite time consuming to create but also a bunch of fun trying to think of props to include and how they can be incorporated in a compelling way.
Thank you for taking the time to review this submission, which I greatly enjoyed working on.
