Of all of the cute greetings card characters I designed I think Fogo the Dragon is my favourite.  After illustrating multiple bears and other fuzzy characters I thought I'd try something different and a little less predictable and I was happy with the result.

Originally his name was Jinx, but we had to change it due to copryright reasons (thanks James Bond movies!).  I actually prefer the original name as it matched perfectly with his story which went as follows;

Originally his name was Jinx, but we had to change it due to copryright reasons (thanks James Bond movies!).  I liked the original name as it matched perfectly with his story which went as follows;

The clumsy wizard didn't mean any harm,
When he cast a jinx instead of a charm.

It whizzed past his beard and he let out a wail,
As the spell struck his little pet dragon’s tail

With a sparkly glow the tail was enchanted,
And from that moment on all wishes were granted.

But the magical tail had a mind of its own,
So out into the night the dragon was thrown.

The curious critter was found the next morning,
Huddled up on a step still tired and yawning...

...by a lonely child who let out a “Squeak!”,
As she saw straight away that he was unique.

“Magical, mischievous, adorable too,
A fantasy friend, my wish came true!”

“You’ve had some bad luck, but you’re not to blame,
I think ”Jinx” would be your perfect name.”
